MedMate is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application (the “App”) handles your information.
1. Scope of Health Data Collection
MedMate collects and processes sensitive health information to provide its core services. By using the app, you consent to the collection of data falling into the following Google Play Health Categories:
- Medication and Treatment Management: We collect information regarding your medications, dosages, and schedules to provide reminders and adherence tracking.
- Activity and Fitness: We process user-inputted health metrics (such as weight or custom health goals) to help you track your wellness progress.
- Healthcare Services and Management: We store information related to your medical appointments and healthcare provider details to assist in your care organization.
- Diseases and Conditions Management: If you choose to log specific symptoms or vitals, this data is used solely for your personal health tracking and history.
2. Purpose of Use & Data Minimization
We adhere to strict data minimization principles. Health data is used exclusively to:
- Provide functional features (reminders, logs, and appointment tracking).
- Sync data across your authorized family devices (if the Family Sync feature is enabled). We do not sell your health data to third parties, nor do we use it for advertising or marketing purposes.
3. User Control & Deletion
You have full control over your health data. You may view, edit, or delete your health records at any time within the app settings. Upon request for account deletion, all associated health data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
4. App Permissions
To provide its core functionality, the App may request access to certain features on your device. These permissions are used solely for the purposes listed below and never to collect data for third parties.
- Camera: The App uses the camera exclusively for the “Scan” feature, which utilizes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to recognize text from labels.
- Privacy Note: Image processing happens locally on your device. No images are sent to the cloud, and the App does not store photos unless you explicitly save them as a note.
- Notifications: Used to deliver the local reminders and alerts you have scheduled.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to outside parties. Since we do not collect user data on our servers, we do not have any data to share with third-party advertisers or analytics networks.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
